BUNKER178 presents The Travelling Talesman: Birthing The Earth, at October Books Community Space.

A Universal archetype: the fecund goddess who makes the flowers grow, but Mother Earth is so much more than a floral spring bouquet as she fights against patriarchal oppression, brings reward to the diligent, punishment to the greedy, presides over death as well as life, and invents the sickle In this carefully curated selection of myths and folktales energetically re-told by a master storyteller.

Held in October Books community space, this event is aimed at adults and will have some adult language and themes.

Listening to a skilled storyteller like The Travelling Talesman is a captivating and immersive experience. He is passionate about each carefully curated and researched story, speaking with enthusiasm and energy. Using gestures, voices, and expressions, he brings the characters to life. You may well find yourself leaning forward, hanging on every word, and completely engaged with the tale.

We will be running a ‘sober bar’ offering alcohol-free beers, wines, ciders etc as well as soft drinks, teas and coffees. There will also be cake! You can bring your own alcohol, we ask that you make a donation to support the event if you do this (and in return we will provide glasses and take away your empties.)

This will be a seated event with a variety of different chairs, and some cushions and rugs for those who like to lounge on the floor.

We will have a bar serving zero-alcohol beers, wines, ciders etc as well as soft drinks, hot drinks, cakes and snacks for sale. You can bring your own alcohol, we ask that you make a donation to support the space if you do this - and we will supply glasses and take away your empties.
